In 1924, the prejudiced residents of Piedmont, California compelled the first Black family to leave through the use of mobs, violence, and various threats, both physical and legal. For a century, this historical account was suppressed, overlooked, and subjected to gatekeeping. This platform aims to shed light on the well-known but concealed history, serving as a means to educate and confront the realities of our troubled past. It strives to underscore the progress made while acknowledging the ongoing work required to rectify and understand our history.
